Meet in a live match
Start random matching and connect with another participant. The call screen displays their public name when the match is assigned.
When you meet another registered Chatly member in a random video chat, you can send a friend request from the call. If they accept, the friendship appears in your account and you can message each other later.

Use Add friend on the stranger's call card. Chatly checks the relationship so duplicate requests and requests to yourself are not created.
The other account can accept or decline from the Friends area. Accepted friends can open a private conversation and message later.
Your sent requests appear in the Friends area with a pending state. You can cancel a request from the account center. Incoming requests can be accepted or declined. If someone sends you a request after you have already sent one to them, Chatly can resolve the matching requests into an accepted friendship.
Friend requests require a registered Chatly account. A guest match has a temporary guest name rather than a persistent account profile, so it cannot receive a lasting friend request. The guest needs to create an account and sign in before a friendship can be saved.

Only public profile fields such as display name and avatar are used in the friend flow. The live call does not expose the other person's email address. You can decline a request, cancel your sent request, or unfriend later.
No. A guest has no persistent Chatly account. Friend requests can only be sent to discoverable registered accounts.
Open the account center and choose Friends. Incoming requests can be accepted or declined there; sent requests can be cancelled.
